My name is Daichi Taniguchi. I’m from Nara, Japan

started playing basketball at the age of 7 because of my parents.
7歳の時に親の影響でバスケットボールを始めました。

My favorite player is Kevin Durant

4. You went to college at South East Oklahoma State University in America. Tell us about that and how was it playing away from home?
4. オクラホマの大学に行ってたけどどうだったか?他の国でプレーする事はどうでした?
My goal was to play in Division 1, but at first I gave up Division 1 and went to Division 2 because I couldn't speak English at all. I was lonely in Southeast Oklahoma State University because there was only one Japanese, but conversely, living only in English was a good environment for studying English.
私の目標はディビジョン１でプレーすることだったんですが、最初は英語が全く出来なかったためディビジョン1を諦めてディビジョン2に行きました。サウスイースタンオクラホマステイト大学でも日本人が1人だったため寂しい気持ちはあったけど、逆に英語しか話さない生活は英語を勉強する環境としては良かったと思う。
5. What has been your favorite moment in your career so far?

Although I got national champion three years consecutive victory ,but the best stimulus to my career is six years I was studying in the United States.
高校の全国大会3連覇もだけど、やっぱりアメリカに留学した６年間が自分のキャリアに一番いい刺激をを与えてくれている。
6. Being a big influence on Japanese basketball how does it feel knowing a lot of kids look up to you and want to follow in your footsteps?
6. 日本のバスケ界に影響を与えてる事に関して憧れであり、あなたと同じようになりたいと思ってる子供達に対してどう思うか?
I'm happy that many kids want to be basketball players like us as basketball is becoming famous in Japan. So we need to take action that we are not ashamed because children always see us.
バスケットボールが日本で有名になりつつある中で子供たちが僕たちのようにバスケットボール選手になりたいと思ってくれることは嬉しいこと。だからこそ子供たちは常に僕たちを見ていると思うし、それに恥じないような言動を自分たちは取る必要がる。

In college 2013-14 daichi played in all 27 games, starting 16 of them. He averaged 5.5 ppg on the year with 149 total points scored. Shot 35.1 percent from three-point range with 39 made three point buckets which was second on the team. He also dished out 47 assists and added 10 blocks and 14 steals. Pulling in a season-high 17 points against Southern Arkansas. In 2017-18 Daichi played on the Akita Northern Happinets having a bleague record setting 54-6 record. This season for Hiroshima Dragonflies will be a big season, so make sure you follow and support him on this journey.
2013ー14年の大学時代、大智はスタメン16試合を含む27試合に出場し、平均5.5ポイント、年間合計149ポイントを獲得した。チーム2番目となるスリーポイント成功数39(成功率35.1%)を記録した。また、47アシスト、10ブロックと14スティールを記録した。対サザンアーカンソー戦でシーズン最高の17ポイントを獲得。2017-18年は秋田ノーザンハピネッツでプレーした。今シーズンは大きなシーズンになるので、彼の応援、そして活躍を見届けて。
