Spks Wrld Presents: Who is Chef Cat?
If you love food you will love this. We had a chance to chat with one of the top chefs in south Florida about her food and the culinary world. Celebrity Chef Cat Hinds skills have created a huge buzz for herself making appearances on Cut throat kitchen and cooking for various celebrities/athletes. Chef Cat has a wide variety of cuisines she puts together and I hope you become a fan like myself after this interview.
1. What’s your name/ where you from?
Catherine Hinds - Miami Florida
my family are natives to Trinidad and Jamaica

2. When did you start cooking & what inspired you?
I actually starting baking first at age 8, my aunt use to baby sit me and had baking and pastry classes which I would accompany her where I learned cake decorating and making fondant flowers. I was inspired by a mommy in me cooking kit my mom bought at Costco’s
3. Who has influenced your cooking the most and the type of things you like to make?
After culinary school i started working at BLT steak at the Betsy hotel on Miami Beach where i met my mentor Chef Jousha Marcus he soon opened his own restaurant and inspired me to veer my career into more savory foods, I learned how to make Asian dim sum and Organic Chinese food.

4. You’ve been on major tv networks and worked for various people. What is your biggest accomplishment and what was the most challenging dish you’ve made?
I think my biggest accomplishment was being a contestant on a food network show it was an amazing experience, later in my career I actually got a chance to cook for Mrs.Serena Williams and I still fan girl when I see her number in my contacts 🤪

5. Do you have a favorite recipe from the cookbook?
One of the most challenging dishes for me, I had to practice a few times is beef Wellington... just the combination of cooking the meat to a medium temperature and having a perfect crispy puff pastry dough

6. What advice would you give to future chefs that look up to you?
My advice for future chefs would be to practice your craft sharpen your knifes, dig deep and create your own path we are all Artist expressing ourselves and have a gift to feed others, there are so many different angels to approach the industry do what is true to YOU.
